Manchester Synagogue Attack: One Victim Was Likely Shot by Police
During a devastating development, one of the individuals killed at the Heaton Park synagogue assault appears to have been fatally wounded by armed police officers.
Police Announcement Confirms Gunshot Wound
The chief constable of Greater Manchester Police stated that the Home Office pathologist has provisionally determined the victim succumbed to a gunshot wound.
“Overnight, we have taken advice from the Home Office pathologist ahead of detailed autopsies set to occur this afternoon. The expert indicated that he has provisionally determined a victim likely sustained a wound matching a firearm wound.”
Suspect Details
The suspect, a 35-year-old individual, did not have a firearm, and all discharged rounds were by the police officers at the scene.
Authorities think the deceased was among those positioned at the entrance seeking to prevent the attacker from entering the building.

“It follows therefore pending additional analysis, this injury may sadly have been sustained as a tragic and unforeseen consequence of the urgently required action employed by our personnel to halt this brutal assault.”
Names Released
Both individuals killed in the attack during the synagogue incident located in Manchester earlier this week were identified as Adrian Daulby, aged 53 and Melvin Cravitz, 66 years old.
These individuals lost their lives when a car was used to ram into the grounds of the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation synagogue, then stabbed worshippers in a brief violent spree that concluded after armed officers fired upon him, killing him near the synagogue entrance.
Further Harm
Three more people were seriously injured in the violent act on Yom Kippur, the most sacred occasion in the Jewish calendar.
Watson said, “Medical professionals have informed us that one of the three victims now hospitalized sustained a firearm injury, which is mercifully not life threatening. It is believed both victims were near each other behind the synagogue door, as worshippers acted bravely to stop the assailant from getting inside.”

“We extend our condolences are directed toward all of the families, and broader public, impacted by this incident across Greater Manchester and beyond. Specialist officers are offering aid and care for all of those directly affected, including our brave first responders.”
Suspect Background
Police named the attacker as the individual, 35, a British citizen of Syrian origin.
Greater Manchester police said that three other people – two men in their 30s and a woman in her 60s – had been arrested “on suspicion of commission, preparation and instigation of terrorist activities”.
